On Premise Vs Private Cloud Deployment
As part of your installation process, you will be required to connect Ideata Analytics to an existing Apache Spark deployment, which can be either an on premise, AWS (Amazon Web Services) cloud, or Google Cloud Platform cloud deployment.
An on-premise Hadoop deployment means that you already have an existing Hadoop installation in your data center (either a physical data center or a virtual data center). For example, if your Hadoop cluster is a persistent cluster in an Amazon EC2 virtual private cloud, this is considered an on-premise deployment to Platfora.
An Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud deployment means that you do not have a persistent Hadoop cluster. Instead, your organization uses Amazon S3 for raw data storage and Amazon Elastic MapReduce (EMR) for on-demand Hadoop data processing.
A Google Cloud Platform cloud deployment means that you do not have a persistent Hadoop cluster. Instead, your organization uses Google Storage for raw data storage and Google Dataproc for on-demand Hadoop data processing.
